Welcome to The Do It Yourself Blog.

Coach Jerry - The DIY CoachIf you are contemplating a home improvement project, DIYer or not, there is crucial information here and on our web site www.thediycoachusa.com for your project.

My purpose in developing this blog is to help property owners become the CEO of their own construction projects.  My blog will cover a wide variety of subjects.  As the combined CEO and Client, you need a perspective that includes determining what you want and analyzing its’ impact to your life style as well as its’ investment value.   It is that perspective that I will attempt to deliver.

Over the more than four decades of my career, I have found that there is much information in the written word, videos, on television shows, and web sites about how to do most aspects of building .  However there is very little said about determining what it is you want to do and then deciding the way you want to do it.  I will very often talk about the how in brief detail, but mostly to help you understand the choices.  The determination of what your priorities are and their order of importance will always be yours.

In addition to my articles, I have invited experts in specific areas to contribute to the blog.  I also want to invite you, the reader, to submit comments and articles, whether you are a Do It Yourselfer or professional contractor.  The goal is the sharing of knowledge and information. Any product that I mention is not a brand recommendation, but a place to start looking.  The same is true of any source of information.  Please don’t submit articles or comments that may be construed to be self-serving advertisements or damaging to your competition.

In a small way, this is to thank my father and those others who taught me so much and continue to do so today.  If you would like more information about my background click here.

May the coach be with you,
